cars coming in 2008

2008 Volvo C30

The Volvo V30 is a small sporty coupe that recalls the Volvo P1800 of the '60s and '70s with its hatchback shape and large one-piece glass tailgate. The C30 marks Volvo's return to the small(ish) two-door hatchback market. Volvo expects the C30 to appeal to younger buyers and turn them into Volvo customers -- as the marketing slogan goes -- "for life".

2008 Honda S2000 CR at the 2007 New York Auto Show

The strakes and spoilers may make it look like something out of The Fast And The Furious 9, but Honda says all the aerodynamic bits are functional. The S2000 CR ("Club Racer") also comes with a race-tuned suspension and lighter weight construction, including a removable aluminum hard-top in place of the convertible roof. Honda calls it "...the closest thing you can get to a Honda-built racecar with license plate holders and a horn."

2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10 revealed at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show

If 510 horsepower wasn't enough for you, then check out the redesigned Viper's all-new 8.4 liter V10 engine, which turns out 600 horsepower -- enough, says Dodge, to launch the two-seat Viper to 60 in under 4 seconds.

The all-new second generation Audi TT coupe and roadster will hit the road in 2007 as 2008 models.

2008 Audi A5 coupe

The A5 coupe is Audi's challenge to cars like the BMW 3- and 6-series coupes. Sized between the A4 and the A6, the A5 uses a new chassis setup that places the engine behind the front wheels, rather than ahead of them as in existing Audi designs
